Photographer's Note
Taken in the fields near La Conner, Washington. La Conner is known for growing tulips, and each April they have a tulip festival, where people can go and tour around the fields. The fields are not just for show though, because in the distance on the right you can see some farm workers in the field picking tulips for the markets. For anyone in the Seattle or Vancouver area it's a nice day trip to drive to La Conner and see the fields. It's particularly popular with photographers, and in the early morning they swarm the best locations, so be prepared!
Before anyone says anything about the horizon, the land there is on a slight slope, and I positioned things to get the rows even instead of the horizon.

Excellent perspective Alvin. I really love how this tulip farm keeps their rows neat and tidy for photography. And having the rows almost perfectly straight makes this an excellent composition. Well now I hope to be able to head down to La Conner this weekend. Thanks for sharing your perspective Alvin. Good work!

Hey Alvin...
Nikon vs. Canon, CORMAC vs. PJE, Side-by-side on TE. Haha.
This is a nice shot Alvin, amazing clarity and great colors, the lines are really appealing.
However- somehting I spotted from the the thumbnail is that the image seems to be tilted to the right, somewhat throwing off the image (in my wonky eyes). I think it would be a bit better leveling off the assumed horizon.
Cheers Alvin,
- Dan
Hahahahahahaha... SOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRRY ALVIN! Paul just clued me into the fact that you mentioned the lay of the land. Shame on me for not reading the note. I still think adjusting it would be better though- hahahaha. ;-)

Hello Alvin,
You caught everyone by surprise. We were expecting another photo of those desert mineral formations and then you came up with this beauty of a tulip farm. This is a gorgeous photo. Well done!

Hi Alvin,
Great shot of the tulips and well composed for a nice symmetrical effect. Personally I might have desaturated slightly as the red hurts my eyes after a while, probably just my old eyes :-)
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Alvin,
I see the US join the tulips TE boom, nice converging perspectives and to enjoy their symetry I don't mind the tilted horizon. Did you lighten the shadows more than usual here or use a ND filter, the foreground seems bery luminous compared to the background.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi alvin,
Superb red color and excellent perspective with all these lines converging in the back of the photo. I like the fact that some people are visible on the right as it puts everything in scale. I read your note about the land being slightly sloped, but it is a bit disturbing to see the horizon tilted to the red... ;o)
Have a nice day.

Alvin,
You are GOOD!This is another photography lesson for me.
I usually say why I like a photo but this time I don`t think it is necessary.
Great work!

Hi Alvin. This reminds me of some pictures Paul did last year but yours are better since you took them with your D200, loll! I think he was using his 50mm a lot back then but I certainly love your wider view here. The POV is great. Super shot Alvin!

Hi Alvin
I had to look twice at the locale, as this initially looked like Holland! Superb colour, sharpness, & diminishing linear perspective. Tfs!

Hi Alvin,
A great fugue of lines in this really spectacular field of tulips, thanks to your setting and a good POV.
The very high line of the horizon in the picture leaves very much space to enjoy this wonderful spectacle of the tulips of a red very alive and brilliant color.
The chromatic impact is impressive.
Great shot.

Hi Alvin,
Indeed, it looks like the photo is tilted, but I see the land is on a slight slope.
Beautiful depth, very good lines and excellent POV. The colours are very nice and bright and i like the dramatic clouds.

What i cant get over in your shots is the sheer clarity you have achieved, the reds are really red, if you know what i mean. The lines are also fantastic making you believe that those tulips go on forever.
