Photographer's Note

This was taken right in front of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC. This is obviously where the House and Senate meet to legislate. But this was taken on a Saturday so it was unlikely anything is going on inside. As you can see this is a popular spot for the tourists to take pictures. On the other side of this building they are currently constructing an underground visitor’s area that will be air conditioned and safer than the current setup.

I took this about a month ago on very warm winter day. It was getting later in the afternoon I believe. I didn't do anything to get that nice blue sky other than press the shutter button. When I rotated this I straightened it out at the very bottom step and I fixed the perspective to get most of it out but I left some in. I usually don't do straight-on shooting angles with buildings but I liked the way this one turned out.
