Photographer's Note
First i want to say this: I want to share also my old OM-10 pictures, but i have a poor scanner. Therefore i want to share this one. It was a beautiful bright and sharp picture, but when i scan it, i lose a lot of sharpness and color.
Neverthelees i like him, because of the great view of Death Valley. I shoot this one trough the car window, with a 200 mm zoom lense. I was fasinated of the dept here.
I hope you don't mind the poor scanning quality.

I really like this shot. Great depth and nice composition with the road leading us away into the distant mountains. Real feel of isolation in this shot. Well done

Amazing landscape Robert. I love the bumpiness of the road and the great depth. Well worth posting, despite the grain.

Une route qui n'en finit pas ! Un ruban qui se dιroule et se perd dans les montagnes de Californie.
J'aime beaucoup cette composition, on a presque l'impression de voir des mirages quand il fait trθs chaud.
Trθs bien fait Robbert.
A road which does not finish! A ribbon which is held and is lost in the mountains of California. I like much this composition, one has almost sensation to see mirages when the weather is very hot. Very well done Robbert.

Great composition of lines and shapes, Robbert! The colour scheme is wonderful, done in the prevailing grey/brown tones. The road brings lovely perspective and the horizontal line of the other one is set as an abrupt border between the colours. Despite the scanner's result it is a great shot indeed!

Nice to see a picture of Calfornia from you just the day before I go to California. Though, I have already seen that amazing road and I imagine the road I will take to go to Tuscon will be similar... Nice picture, robbert!

I like the endless road ganre... This one is very well composed, and the quality is good enough so for me to enjoy it.
For some reason this one reminded me a lot of a road in the southern part of Israel (which I used to use for going to the the city of Eilat) called the Arava road. This is a long road, located in the desert like this one, and like this one has parts that are extremely narrow (well, it was true about 5 years ago, not sure what the situation is now...). The problem with this road is that people either speed (to get it over with...) or fall asleep (due to the monotonous view) or both... there have been many deadly accidents there, and now there is increased law enforcement, and they also put some distractions on the sides of the road, to give a feeling of change of scenery...
I wonder if this road suffers from the same problems...

Well we know where we’re goin’
But we don’t know where we’ve been
And we know what we’re knowin’
But we can’t say what we’ve seen
And we’re not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
We’re on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin’ that ride to nowhere
We’ll take that ride
I’m feelin’ okay this mornin’
And you know,
We’re on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go
Chorus
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don’t care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there...take you there
We’re on a road to nowhere
We’re on a road to nowhere
We’re on a road to nowhere
There’s a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
And it’s very far away
But it’s growing day by day
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
They can tell you what to do
But they’ll make a fool of you
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
We’re on a road to nowhere

Gaaf RJ! Ben gek op die eindeloze Amerikaanse wegen. Komt die kronkeling door de hitte of dor de autoruit? Good framing!

Yes, the scanning quality is not the best, but the scene and composition are good, Robbert. I like the totally desert(ed) feel, and the subtle undulations in the road's surface. Thanks for sharing.
Added to Gitane's "Infinite Roads" theme.
Well, as ChrisJ already posted the lyrics of "Road to Nowhere" in his comment, I might as well mention that your shot reminds me of a similar picture from the Midwest (Nebraska) I posted under precisely this title ;-)

Wow, this road looks endless, I like this shot very much, Robbert. A classice desert picture, the scanning quality doesn't matter here. Very nice shot.

Effectivment la qualitι n'est pas celle que tu nous a habituι mais la composition est bien construites avec cette routes qui coupe la scθne pour ne plus se finir !
C'est vraiment imprιssionant ce type de route au milieu de rien .

Dear Robbert,
Despite the loss of contrast; this is an impressive capture. The waves on the road add a lot to the movement in a still picture. The original probably has more contrast and sharpness to it. I had taken a similar photo in New Zealand (http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo430033.htm).. Now looking at yours, I find my road even boring.. I do have a beautiful rainbow in my though to relieve that feeling.
Good job.. Cheers,
Alp
