Photographer's Note

Havng driven this route, cosidered by many to be one of the most scenic in the world, I have crossed he Bixby Bridge many times in the past 45 years. The most unique quality I have noticed about this sructure is the curves. Most images I've seen convey only the vertical curves. However, I think the road curves are as important to the esthetics as the support curves; so I attempted to capture these curves. The major curve occurs as the bridge approaches the gorge but they continue to to be faintly seen on the hillside leading to the notch on the skyline.
