Photographer's Note

I made an opportunistic variation on a characteristic shot of the USA: a long straight road heading to the horizon with dark tarmac and the yellow centerline. This time it is however not heading into nice rock formations of Monument Vally or Sedona, but into a wall of rain. Okay okay, this is also a road heading into Canyonlands National Park (but I cropped that road sign from the picture). I had not expected to meet such a lot of rain during our three weeks of holidays in the USA (see also the pictures of the bean barn and Delicate Arch), but in the end I am happy that we did not have clear blue skies every day.

The original picture had the road in the centre and shows some additional big road signs, so I used some cropping to get this result. I also used Neat Image (maybe too much?) to get rid of some grain.
