Photographer's Note
The temperate rain forest in the valleys of the Quinault, Queets, and Hoh rivers are protected and contain some of the most spectacular examples of undisturbed Sitka spruce/western hemlock forests in the lower 48 states. This ecosystem stretches along the Pacific Coast from Oregon to Alaska; other temperate rain forests are found in several isolated areas throughout the world. What defines a rain forest quite simply is rain--lots of it. Precipitation here ranges from 140 to 167 inches--12 to 14 feet--every year. The mountains to the east also protect the coastal areas from severe weather extremes. Seldom does the temperature drop below freezing in the rain forest and summertime highs rarely exceed 80 F.

Good exposition i can see some of the plants taht grow here too.I can see that humidity is to a maximum with the tone of green.

I love forest, but here i would call it jungle, there are a lot of biodiversity and i just love all the green places were the natrure is so big...good image..

I like the pattern created by the trees. It adds a lot of harmony to the composition and gives my eyes something to rest upon. Very nice. And the note is interesting also.

MAGNIFIQUE. Nous nous croyons vraiment en pleine brousse. Vous avez vraiment bien capté la lumière qui s'infiltre dans cette forêt dense et illumine cete végétation. La couleur de la mousse sur les troncs d'arbres se découpe bien sur le fond tout vert. Et que dire de la netteté, impeccable.

Beautiful green, the light plays beautifully on the different plants. Maybe you could've used a polarizer to soften the light a little though. This forest is incredible, I'd like to go there some time again.

Les dégradés de verts sont fort jolis et les deux premiers troncs biscornus donne un style de foret tropical avec les mousses accrochés

Une photo de grande qualité, superbement exposée : pas évident dans ce type de cadrage de concilier des zones d'ombre détaillées et des zones éclairées sans sur-saturation. Pas de "trous" numériques dans les zones blanches et bleues entre les feuillages ce qui donnent une mention toute particulière à votre équipement photo numérique. J'aime beaucoup cette déclinaison de tons verts et la note qui accompagne votre photo. Bravo.

Now this a places to visit - In Denmark there’s a few forests, which left unspoiled and protected. But this tree’s really something special - A great capture with good contrast/light – well done.
(I believe to have the same bracken in my garden)

Great play of light on the ferns at the bottom and on the trunks of the moss-covered trees. Colors are splendid; I remember this area vividly from my own visit last year, so thanks for bringing back the memories. Nice work, Fred!

Finies les montagnes, finis les embouteillages. Tout ce vert est si pur et si tendre. J'aime beaucoup la texture des troncs d'arbres du premier plan.

This is biotope of my special interest! It is interesting that there are not many lyans. I can not add anything about photograph - I think it is just perfect. The dominance of green colour makes it interesting.

This is a very GREEN photo! Beautiful detail and composition, and the colour is outstanding. I agree that a polariser would have helped, but I very much like it as it is.
It reminds me of New Zealand - around the Routeburn Track and Arthur's Pass. Beautiful.

I can almost here the moskitoes... A really nice photograph of a truelly wonderful place. Must have been an incredible place to visit. All the different shades of green really makes this shot.

Very nice Fred. I've been to the Hoh manytimes and love the area. You've captured the forest setting nicely. Of the times I've been there with camera in hand it's usually dark and difficult to capture a good image.

Great exposure, the available light works well on the tree trunks it makes the image more vivid. Also at first I thought that there was an animal in the tree near the top of the frame. good work Fred

J'ai ajouté une deuxième photo (assez banale, certes). Pour l'instant, je me familiarise avec l'appareil (visiblement, tu es plus que familiarisé...).

Les nuances de vert sont magnifiques. Les détails sont fins. L'épaisseur de la mousse sur les arbres rend cette composition impressionnante.

The wispy trees with its green foliages. Reminds me of my home state and the National Park. This is great to express the "cooling" effect of rainforest. Soft shades and light green.

Après un petit relâche dû à une semaine assez occupée, je continue le tour de tes photos. Aujourd'hui les USA. Difficile de faire une choix tellement elle sont belles: animaux, paysages, reflets, etc. Mais je me suis arrêté sur celle-ci car c'est pas facile de faire des photos dans la forêt vu les différence d'exposition entre ombres et lumières.Le forêt est belle, superbe photo et belles couleurs. Bravo!

Ohh I love there moist forest scenes.
