Photographer's Note

Another shot from Chicago's Crown Fountain designed by the celebrated Catalan sculpture, Jaume Plensa. This fountain, an installation at the Millennium Park, consists of a pair of 50 ft blocks separated by black granite plaza on which 1/8 of an inch high of water rests. Faces of 1000 ordinary Chicagoans are projected on the fountain face (1 every 15 mins); the face purses its lips and out comes water. Children are instantly attracted to the water. After the spout is finished, the video disappears and water cascades on the block face. It is a thrill for children (and a few adults) to stay under the avalance ... and also a thrill for photographers to take pictures.
