Photographer's Note
Almost every country that has traffic has stop signs, and they are almost always octagonal. When you get to this stop sign, turn left; my house is the third one on the right!
PP: I selected the sky and sign on different layers. I used AutoColor for the sky, which really increased the contrast and saturation, so I decreased saturation by 20%. I cloned a few flaws in the stop sign, then used Unsharp Mask at a very high pixel radius (about 200!), but a very low percentage (about 20%), which made the sign nice and vivid. Cropped and sharpened.
STOP! And enjoy the world around you! It's a beautiful day!
Here are the first 20 or so results from a Googlism search:

Hi David, simple... graphical... colourfull... great note... this has everything to be a winner! and already is for me.
This is the proof that there's no need for amazing landscapes or sunsets... photography can be done everywhere... just watch for the street signs near you ;)
Nice PP work!

Bonsoir David,
Une composition qui ne manque pas d'originalitι, c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire !
J'ai beaucoup aimι la note d'accompagnement et l'humour qui s'y glisse.
Graphisme rιussi avec des couleurs qui claquent.
Trθs bien vu.

What a conundrum. An infinite sky... everything is beyond this point. And the clearest, most universal message there is, telling us to stay right where we are. Undeniably a graphic composition and one that could be anywhere in the world.
Oh, I just realized. You now have titles "Stop!" and "Look!". I'm afraid it would just be wrong not to find a shot for "Listen!" at this point.

Hi David. Creative shooting to create an artwork from a common daily item as a stop sign. Here's where your inclination for drama shines through, I guess - the angle is stupendous and the color contrast is great. I also like the hint of a reflection of the clouds in the area where the sign meets the sky.

String and very effective graphism at work here David. I have never seen such a dramatic rendition of a STOP sign. Beautiful too, which doesn't hurts, And it's all capped off with first rate notes. Cheers, Francis

Hi David. I just love the idea for this shot and you executed it wonderfully. Your POV brings all sorts of drama into the shot. I love how you've broken it down to just two or three basic colors. I'll keep an eye out for this stop sign the next time I'm in Utah! :) Fantastic shot David!

I hold back from putting images like this on TE at times because whenever I think about it a stop sign comes up in my head and I think about turning right into TL instead - BUT - I'm not that much into TL to be honest and when I see such fantastic images as this I'm encouraged to re-think my direction of travel - mostly I back up and go and get another pic instead.
The Google note cleverly brings out the world wide context/significance of this simple image in an equally semi-abstract way. Nice one David!

Great way to turn the ordinary into an art form. The hint of cloud reflection on this is great and the actual sky is just lovely. Great colors realistic and so much fun.

Yes actually,
... especially if you look at a STOP sign from within your car - there's almost always the sky behind it!
(never thought of that before...)
Clever usage of close up to create this composition.
And another thing very interesting from graphical POV - have you noticed how you managed to create a simplified version of american flag with your compo and colours?!

Also, 4 stop signs at the same crossing is impossible in Europe and it surprised me the first time I went there...
Anyway, your framing and your point of view are very well seen. Bravo!

Are you applying to the traffic police? This is the second photo lately portraying road signs, so am I wrong that your intro photo will change for you in uniform soon? ;-)))
About you note, you made me confuse about this sign!!! I really don’t know what to think about it anymore, so I’ll just ignore it when I’m driving from now on. :-)
Very, very nice POV and framing, as well colors and sharpness. There seems to be some pixelization in the letters in the bottom right though.

Hi David
I like the superb blue sky reflected in the red stop sign on the margins & mingling to give a purple hue. A stunning pov, with wonderfulsharpness color & lighting. The simple, but powerful composition, is perfect! Well done!

Great shot, beautifully composed and contrasted.
Well done David.
Very clever note also, a good use of googlism.
I know this would kind of damage the usefulness of this important sign, but on this occasion I wish this sign was a bit more reflective to improve the reflection of the sky.
Have a good day.
