The center of this photo is the overhanging rock at Glacier Point in Yosemite from a looking up viewing angle. The overhanging rock is a very famous because, as shown in the historic photos in WS, people did many crazy posing there. Now, the rock is off limit. No one is allowed to set foot on the rock again. You can take a shot at the same angle, as all historic photos, with the rock empty of cause

The posing rock measures roughly seven feet wide and fourteen feet long. Beneath the rock is 3240 feet space before reaching the floor of Yosemite Valley. A 360 degree view at Glacier point is provided in this web site:

I believe that the top of Glacier Point does not provide the best viewing angle to all landmarks of the Yosemite Valley. Some better POV can be found along Four Mile Trail, a 4.6 miles hiking trail from Yosemite Valley to Glacier point. It is a quite strenuous up hill hiking. However, if the glacier point road is opened, you can take a bus going up and hiking downhill.

When I visited there, the Glacier point road was still closed. The hiking trail to the glacier point was closed at 3 mile point. Since I knew the view would be great, and I have been glacier point many times, I did not mind that I could not reach to the top. This picture was taken along the hiking trail.

Side note: I had to take an extra two miles hiking each way on that day because Yosemite Valley was closed to incoming traffic for four hours due to over crowded in Yosemite Valley. Some summer peak season lodgings may need to be reserved a year ahead of visiting schedule.

In WS#2, I have posted a zoomed in photo in a slightly different view angle of the rock.
