Photographer's Note

There are many waterfalls in Yosemite Valley. Most of them are seasonal waterfalls, which dry out in summer. The water volume in the waterfalls are largely depend on the snow melting speed in the high mountains.

Many roads in Yosemite close during winter time. In a regular year, all roads re-open in middle of May. Because California had a record snow this year, Glacier point road and Tioga road have not opened as per today. The heavy snow in the high mountain lead to the high water volumes in all Yosemite waterfalls this year.

This photo was taken along Tioga pass (Highway 120). The road was blocked to all traffic, including driving, biking, and hiking. This picture shows that snow is still packed in the high mountains. This picture was taken at an elevation over 8000ft, or 2500m.

I feel kind of funny seeing so many different signs repeating the same words on the road.
