Photographer's Note

In time past, this little house was used to keep perishables cold by the coolness of the springs that feed the pond.. hence the term spring house. You can see another view of it from my pic of "across the pond." I am forever in love with the mix of old stone and new growth (for its semantic as well as textural contrasts) and I thought this scene portrayed that marriage nicely. I believe the springhouse and that tree are old friends.

This fine May day my cousin offered me her polarizer filter to play with, which I tried out for a few shots, this included. The greens were especially vibrant because of the strong sunlight, but I was surprised at how aggressively they lit up the photo. I thought of reducing saturation a bit for fear no one would believe this, but decided to leave it as is and field comments as they may come. Sharpening only.
