Photographer's Note
Mount Baker is one of a string of volcanoes along the west coast of North America. The most famous is Mt. St. Helens, which erupted about 25 years ago. Mount Baker is near the Canada/US border, and gets a huge amount of snow. This means that it has about 8 glaciers flowing from the peak on all sides. This view is from Iceberg Lake on the north side.

A nicely composed landscape, Alvin. The butte at left adds something unusual. I think that butte is awfully dark, though, as almost no detail can be seen. If you can restore some of the detail, it might be an even better image.

Very dramatic mountain vista, this is near the mountain I want to visit someday, Mt. Shuksan (sp?) I love the dark ridge you've captured on the left side of this photo, it nicely balances all that snow on the mountain, and the blue sky is lovely.

Hi Alvin,
You started off with your trademark stunning detail, color and framing even though you hadn't been discovered yet. I found it because I'm doing a theme. In starting a series on the Cascade Lakes Loop, I scattered off in to the Cascade Range. I was impressed that most of this range is recorded well here on TE; so I've started a theme I've titled Cascade Mountain Range. I’ve added this photo to the Cascade Mountain Range theme. Regards, Pat
