At the southeastern end of the Central Park lies the Pond, a serene body of water home to birds, turtles, and other wildlife. Just feet away from bustling Fifth Avenue, the Pond provides visitors with a quiet escape in the middle of Midtown.

In addition to the 240 migratory bird species that inhabit the Pond, the area is also known for its lovely sunset views. Crabapple and forsythia trees assist in creating the calming ambiance of the area, and the nearby Hallett Nature Sanctuary educates visitors about the flora and fauna of this area of the Park.
