Photographer's Note
This picture taken at the entrance to Mt. Rushmore monument in Keystone, South Dakota. I do many of my photo safaris in September / October. During these months, tourists are gone; hotels are empty ; air is cool; high contrast in everything and more importantly in South Dakota, the early morning and late afternoon lighting is amazing. This shot was captured about 0530 am; the sun is more pink than red although these concrete pillars took on a very red hue for about 5 minutes. Don’t spend too much time shooting these because the ‘heads’ have a soft pink glow for a few minutes before the harsh white granite look prevails.

Hello Michael,
Welcome to TE! I hope you are enjoying your membership and making new friends.
This is a terrific photo. I love the reddish tone of the light, the repeating patterns, the vanishing lines and the gentle curvature. I think I will add this one to my favorites.
Regards,

Hi Michael
picture well composed and taken at the right moment, with the bent perspective, the colors are amazing orange vs purple!
I would have cropped the black top of the picture to start with the lighted pillars
Cheers
