Photographer's Note
Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse
I personally like how the sun is shining through the top of the lighthouse. Look like the lamp is lit.

I see your point about the light although if you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have known it was a lighthouse.

This building does not look like a typical lighthouse to me, and the turret is blown out by overexposure, so I have no way of knowing what I'm looking at without the caption. In addition, the contrast is so great that your exposure gets neither the sky or the foreground correctly exposed. It's a good concept, but very difficult lighting. I would expose for the foreground, so that the viewer can at least clearly see the lighthouse, even if the sky is blown. I would also crop out the path and anchor in the foreground and try to reduce the flare.

i like this picture, but the green spot in the middle encumbers the picture.. i don't really know how to remove it (with photoshop), maybe to crop it.. but the best that i can tell you is that you could take the picture nearer the ground, to give a nice effect to the lighthouse, and maybe the sun wouldn't bother.. i'll give a point anyway, because the idea is good, and the sun on the top of the lighthouse is great too.
