Photographer's Note
The Florida Adult Baseball League played it all-star game yesterday here in my home town of Fort Myers. The game started over 2 hours late because of rain but once it got started it went off without a hitch. The players in this game come primarily from the Tampa area and need to be at least 18 years old.
The shortstop in this picture came charging in on a ground ball and in one motion picked up the ball, flew through the air and threw the batter out at first base.

Very nice picture of this player in action. Great capture of a unique moment. It's a great portrait. Having the ball in the picture is making this moment even more precious.

Hi Gregory,
I love the frozen action of the shortstop and the ball nicely placed in the image. A well balanced image with the sharp figure of the player and slight out-of-focus ball in the foreground while the background is nicely further out of focus. A nice touch is the single out-of-focus spectator watching the action.

Definitely showing off the sport photography chops here, Gregory. Outstanding capture at a perfect time, as he and the ball hang in the air, almost still in the lens. Great DOF lends the whole scene wonderful clarity.
