Photographer's Note
Point Lobos is a state park along the California coastline. It's a marine habitat and nature reserve with wonderful hiking trails and amazing rock formations along the water, which make it an ideal home for various birds, sea lions, fish and other creatures. They also make it an ideal place for photography, especially as the sun sets across the water.
I spent an afternoon at Point Lobos on my way up the California coast in 2009, and took well over 500 pictures in those hours. I'm going to share a few of them here. This is of a small cove at the north side of the park. The sunset was beginning to show on the rocks and the water was near high tide making for a lovely combination of light and action.

Hi Andrew,
I am so glad to see an image of Point Lobos here and I am looking forward to the rest of your series. It is, of course, the place where Edward Weston took many of his most beautiful B&W seascapes and landscapes and where a new experience in photography as an art form started. Hello Andrew. This capture really does portray the rugged shoreline along the west coast. I do like how you have arranged these caramel rock shapes inside the frame. And I also love the subtle details of homes dotted along the shore. Good lighting...and an excellent presentation.

I love Point Lobos SP, so beautiful and it looks like you caught it on a good day for photos. Excellent color saturation and light management seem flawless. Superb clarity and DOF showing off your POV of this most beautiful State Park. Did you get a chance to see the old growth cypress trees? On the other side of the point are some beautiful hidden beaches that have posted as well. The rock formations here are so beautiful and old and the history of this park is something to learn about, very rich in history. Masterful presentation here Andrew, great job!!
