Photographer's Note
Well its been a while since I posted any photos. I was in Maui earlier this month and managed to take a Whale watching tour. I the months of January and Feb in Maui the humpback whales give birth to their young and then when these young pups are large enough they will navigate up to Alaska. This is one of my best photos while on the tour. Maui is simply the best for great weather, good time spent relaxing and amazing place for photography.

Hello Paul,
This is one of my favourite places in the world. You went at a great time of the year with the whales active in the area. Congratulations on catching this one breaching out of the water with those droplets of water showing up so well against the blue water.

Hello Paul,
Maui is indeed a Suburb of Paradise, especially during a Canadian Winter. This is a spectacular shot of the Humpback Whale, the lines on its his underside, and the droplets of water in the air appearing sharp as obsidian glass.
Regarding, our cruise to the South Seas, for seven straight days we saw nary a ship, a bird, a plane, even the contrail of a plane. The Polynesian Islands are approximately directly south of the Hawaiian Islands. On person became a celebrity when he claimed to have seen a ship at the horizon. (He must have had 20/10 vision.) I gave 7 lectures during 9 sea days, with the other three days on islands. Incidentally, this summer we might be coming to Vancouver twice, once while embarking on an 'Anniversary cruise' with the family.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Paul,
it is nice to see you posting again and even with such a spectacular shot! You managed the situation very well - despite the difficult conditions. The deep blue of the ocean makes this image very attractive. My compliments!
Warm regards

Hello Paul,
You're capturing well this active scene by a good composition and excellent tone, so it's interesting and impressive to see the spectacle that the whale has flown and bounded raising a spray. It's impressive in deep blue sea, too.
Kind regards,
mikio

Hi, Paul,
Outstanding capture of the whale. Just a dream of every photographer. Did you seen "Orca: Killer Whale" (1977) movie? Just a dream of every photographer.
best wishes from Russia,

This must have been a difficult shot to capture, and you did so perfectly. The color of the water is amazing as well. Nicely done.
