Photographer's Note
The area behind the tree is floating, covered boat storage; see the WS for other views of the laid back lifestyle of the Delta area. We travelled the Delta Loop, a 10 mile Scenic Drive around Brannon Island. The island is bounded by the Mokelumne & San Joaquin Rivers. The Sacramento/San Joaquin River Delta includes over 1000 miles of waterways. Zoom in and out on the map link to see the details of this area. Boaters love the area because there are few speed or live-aboard restrictions . Marinas, campgrounds, boat rental & sales abound while the five area restaurant all have boat docks. We tried Rosa’s and found the food mediocre. Source
UPDATE: As Francisco pointed out, the flowers are on a Acacia dealbata (Silver Wattle); a species of Acacia, native to southeastern Australia. It is a fast growing evergreen tree or shrub growing up to 30 m tall, typically a pioneer species after fire. The leaves are bipinnate, glaucous blue-green to silvery grey, 1–12 cm (occasionally to 17 cm) long and 1–11 cm broad, with 6–30 pairs of pinnae, each pinna divided into 10–68 pairs of leaflets; the leaflets are 0.7–6 mm long and 0.4–1 mm broad. The flowers are produced in large racemose inflorescences made up of numerous smaller globose bright yellow flowerheads of 13–42 individual flowers. The fruit is a flattened pod 2–11.5 cm long and 6–14 mm broad, containing several seeds.[2] Trees generally do not live longer than 30 to 40 years, after which in the wild they are succeeded by other species where bushfires are excluded. The large tree trunk in the picture is a eucalyptus. Source

Hello Pat, Haven't seen any posts from you for some time, maybe I am just out of sync with your postings. This is a real interesting one. Lovely vegetation on the treee and unique looking bark on the tree. I can see the water in the background. I have fished the Sacramento River for stripped bass some 40 years ago. Beautiful waterways in this area. Regards, Roger

Hi Pat
I like the opposing diagonals in both the main trees. I'll bet the smell of the Eucalyptus was heavenly. Do the flowers have a fragrence?. I like the texture uf the trunk and the light on the underside of the smaller tree.

Wonderful tree and flowers, Pat.
It looks a lot like what we call 'Mimosa', also flowering in winter.

Hello Pat,
The view of these flowering trees is an excellent and colorful illustration of the interesting information about this beautiful place and its flora in the note. The composition is very well balanced on compositional elements, colors and light-and-shades. Both the picture and story are perfectly good!
Best regards,

Hi Pat,
Your framing closed on these trees and its leaves under a good light and with good balance with the shades, its fantastic natural colors in an excellent range of green tones, and the elegance of the composition, have created a really beautiful image.
A great work, my friend.

Hi Pat,
Nice light and beautiful bright colors.
I see the eucalyptus leaves (more towards background). But, excuse me, are you sure about the flowers? According to other page of your source, the flowers seem different.
The bloom shrubby tree seem more similar to some kinds of acacia or mimosa, such as Tober's Colours of Spring - Mimosas or my Middle of the Winter in Portugal - 3.

Hello Pat,
One would say mimosa the flowers of this tree but the odor is certainly not the same one !!! A beautiful series of photographs on this green place. I like much the colors and the sky on your photograph 1 in WS. A pleasant area less during the hot and wet seasons for the mosquitos apparently… Thank you Stalemate.
With all my friendships and very good Sunday,

Hi pat, the rich and lush greenery make it hard to believe it that it is in California, but I guess at certain time and light condition, it is possible with a little help of saturation to achieve such rich vivid color. The back lighting give an interesting effect to the overall environment. Thanks

Hello Pat,
Without hesitating, the photograph is superb, and astonishing with these flowers in this season, as you explain it. The light lights ideally without creating zons of major shades. Thank you for your ws pleasant which specifies the context. Beautiful photography, and an excellent note. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hello Pat
The use of light here is very well done and you handled the exposure well. The yellow leaves create a fine impact, as do the red flowers on the left. Very, very tropical indeed!

Hello Pat! This cannot be any further away from what we have right now when I look outside and see all the snow that we got yesterday. Feels wonderful to look at this photo and I wish to stand in this garden right now and smell the Eucalyptus. Very nice how you got this scene into your camera! You did a very good job. Have a wonderful Sunday, Barbara.
