Photographer's Note
A daily hike from base camp to the ridge of Mount Massive to work on the trail allowed for a brief view of neighboring Mount Elbert (14,443 feet / 4,402 meters).
Mount Elbert is the highest peak in Colorado, approximately 20 feet higher than #2 Mount Massive. Of the peaks in the contiguous 48 states in the United States (which excludes Alaska), only Mount Whitney in California is higher.
This photo was taken at about 6:45 AM, shortly after sunrise. My next post will include a slightly different view.

Hi Adam.
I'm glad you don't just zoom in on the top, but show the varied vegetation too. It goes quickly from green trees to bare mountain. It's a really high mountain and it must be a great experience to walk through these forests. Thanks for sharing.
Regards, Fredrik

Hello Adam,
Great view and atmosphere of the mountain in early morning. Images like this make me miss the US and the Colorado Rockies in particular. Regards. Latiff.

Hallo Adam!
Here I like the vertical format very much - and of course this magnificent and near to nature landscape. You caught it in a truly wonderful light. I would like to step into your picture now ... ;-)
Greetings from very cold and snow covered Germany!
Frank
