Photographer's Note
Working on Mount Massive, Colorado's second-highest peak, until September meant lots of light snowstorms. Here you can see a view facing south showing some of the storms over the Sawatch Range.
This photo was taken from about 14,100 feet (4,300 meters) during a lunch break on the ridge of the mountain, where we worked for several weeks with the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative to consolidate the multiple trails leading to the summit into a single, well-defined route.
The leftmost peak is Mount Elbert (14,443 feet / 4,402 meters), the highest in Colorado.
