Photographer's Note
Grouse Mountain (elevation approximately 12,800 feet / 3,900 meters) is a peak located in the Holy Cross Wilderness of the White River National Forest in Colorado.
This shot of the peak was taken from our campsite where we stayed for two weeks while working with the Forest Service to improve drainage in several parts of the Grouse Creek Trail, mostly through construction of rock "turnpikes" over areas that had become flooded and mud-filled.
It was a memorable couple of weeks, and though the work was hard, the scenery was beautiful. On an off day near the end of our stay, we finally climbed the peak. Photos from that climb will be coming soon.
