Photographer's Note
Videa Falls is among the more attractive waterfalls I have seen in a long while. It is located a sort drive to the east along the Crater Lake loop trail. I really like the fact there are many small water cascades that make up the whole. I also like the foreground wildflowers although it was definitey end of season for flower displays. Hey, I rarely photograph and therefore rarely share waterfall photographs, so those of you out there that are far more experienced than I with shots like this, please, give me your thoughts, ideas, and critiques. Hi Gerald
I think you made a good job, the scenery looks very attractive, if not like an earthly paradise. It's just charming, with lovely colors, and a beautiful view on the waterfall.
Well done!

I knew I'd seen these recently and tracked them down in Way's gallery. I think you have done a great job in a difficult situation. Full sunlight is the worst conditions for photographing waterfalls; the best time is on a dull day. It also depends on taste. If you like the silky look from using a slow shutter, unless you have a strong ND filter, forget that in sunlight and go for a fast speed to freeze the water. It is so easy to burn out the water. Having said all that, the water looks fairly smooth, so I would guess your shutter was slowish, although you don't give the exposure details. You managed not to burn out the water, so well done. I like the pink flowers too (fireweed?)and the way they lean into the image works well for the composition.

Gerald I love the cascade effect and foreground flowers in the frame. I am uncertain about the shutter speed because I do not see it listed. At any rate I would highly recommend you picking up some ND filters which will allow you to shorten your shutter speed down to a second or longer. Usually I get by with the polarizer and stopping down as far as possible. You also have to consider the dynamic range of lighting between the waterfall in the sunlight and surrounding plants and rocks...quite the challenge at times. Good work Gerald.

Bonjour Gerald,
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Gerald
Very pretty waterfalls well placed behind the attractive flowers. The inclusion of the polarized sky, gives contrast and accentuates height.

Hi Gerald,
I thought we were just talked about you wanted to come here and here you were and back already. This is even more beautiful than I remember it to be, maybe you have a nicely day, blue sky, nice light, I got kind of a hazy end of day, not sunlight, so less contrast. You have captured it just fine, rich color, the exposure is fine, as the slow shutter speed type with silky water but more enegy to the water falls, it is a rather cute and small water falls, but as we see here the colorful flowers make it so much more photogenic. A tough on the too dark side, but that is your style and preference. Great job. My complements.

Namaste Gerald,
great shot of the lovely waterfalls. Your point of view is also nice. Great control of light even in such sunny day and using slow shutter speed. Vibrant colours. A bit high the saturation but it acts well. Tfs.
Have a nice time.

Hello Gerald,
A simple motif made attractive by the fine composition and attractive colours!
Effective diagonal movement of the water, strong foreground interest in the contrasting fireweed...
Vivid colours and sharp fine details!

Hi Gerald,
Very nicely framed work with the smooth blur of the falls and the effect of their breeze moving the Fireweed.
I been photographing Oregon falls lately but I've missed this one so far.

Hi Gerald
Nicely composed with the waterfall coming from the top right to the bottom left. Excellent saturation helped no doubt by your polarizer.
