Photographer's Note
I was walking down the rocky beach in Santa Cruz before the noon when I saw pelicans hoovering so low over the sea they almost seemed to swim rather than fly. It was very quiet and the only sound were the wavwes and the pelicans' wings slapping. It was the first time I saw pelicans in nature and I was thrilled, amazed by the beauty of their flying.
There isn't much light on the picture beacuse there was a heavy mist over the ocean casting grey shadow on the water - you can see it was actually green. The mist usually clears totally about the noon. The pic was taken about 11 a.m.
