Photographer's Note
This is another view of Mount Rainier on the Pinnacle Peak trail. I took this version peeking out between two trees. I've posted so much information about Mount Rainier, I've been trying to find something new to add, these facts are from the National Park Service Web site:
Did You Know?
Mount Fuji in Japan is Mount Rainier's sister park. Visitors from Japan have noted a strong resemblance between the two volcanos. Mount Rainier is honored to have a coningent of volunteers from Japan come to the park each year for two weeks to work on a project.
Did You Know?
About 5,600 years ago the summit and northeast face of Mount Rainier fell away in a massive landslide accompanied by volcanic explosions. The Osceola Mudflow, a towering wall of mud and rock, thundered down the White River Valley where it deposited 600' of debris eventually reaching the Puget Sound.
Did You Know?
At 14,410 feet Mount Rainier is the highest peak in the Cascade Range. From various locations around the park you can see four other Cascade volcanoes: Mount St. Helens, Mt Adams, Mt Baker, and Glacier Peak. On a clear day, you can see the tip of Mt Hood, in northern Oregon, from Paradise Meadows.
Did You Know?
Carbon Glacier comes to the lowest elevation of any glacier in the lower 48 states at 3500'. It's located in the northwest corner of the park.

Hi Lori,
You've captured excellent detail in this colossal mountain and framed it nicely between the near-range evergreens and forest foreground and the blue sky. Your note is full of interesting detail. Easy to see you're a teacher.

Lori
Another of your excellent quality image of countryside. You do well to hold down the amount of blue light in the atmosphere and achieve clear shots.

A volcano seems so peaceful when he's sleeping.
Among all your photos of the Mount Rainier,it would be impossible for me to choose "the best one" because they are all very beautiful. They all show your passion for the moutains and the region where you are living.
Greetings from the opposite side of the world (Belgium !)
