Photographer's Note
This is probably the last Mount Rainier photo I will post. It is taken from outside the National Park from a small town called Mineral with Mineral Lake in the foreground. Mineral is reached by a short road from Highway 7 and provides a view of the west face of the mountain. I am told that this cap of cloud on the top is quite a common phenomenon, and that, as the mountain makes its own weather system, it could quite easily be snowing up there while everyone else is enjoying fine weather. I quite like the image this cloud makes on the mountain and wanted to share it with you. It is the only time we saw it like this; it was either covered in cloud completely or out in all its glory.

Hi Kath,
I like very much landscape pictures and this one you captured is wonderful and tecnhical excelent. Very good angle of view and enquadrement of the scenery. Quality picture with fine colors, fantastic contrast and sharpness. All in one!
The cloud in the top of the mountain is a must. Very very beautiful and also very well composed.

well I have to say I like y our photo 3 the best. But this is nice. A suggestion if you don't mind. Try and capture your mountain scenes with light shadows for aded depth. Perhaps morning shots or late afternoon sun. It will make a big difference. The mountain does look beautiful in all your shots though. Keep up the good work.

Hi Kath, I like this picture it works well and I like the contrast with the bit of lake to the right that is nice against the sky and the trees... very nice, I like the clouds around them moutain, it's nice... well done!!

Nice view Kath, I especially like the halo of cloud surrounding the peak. I like the fact that it could be snowing directly onto the mountin from that cloud and sunny everywhere else!
I also like that we can see a little of the lake.

Bonjour Kath,
une fantastique vue du Mount Rainier, sous un joli ciel, cette montagne toute de roc, en bien entourι par d'autres monts couverts de verdure.
Les couleurs sont excellentes et surtotu les verts qu'offrent ces arbres au premier plan.

The cloud is almost like a ring around saturn. I'm so glad you decided to share this.
A little bit of everything in this photo, it's slightly distracting, but still a wonderful view.

Hi Kath,
I haven't seen a photo of Ranier with a hat although I've seen it with other volcanos. I also like the framing of the trees and lake in the foreground. The greens and blues make an attractive photo. I've gotten to Ranier in the theme - Only Bake and Garibaldi left to go. I expect I'll try to pick up some of the missing mountains from around here as I go along. Does your sister-in-law live in England now. When she refers to the beauty of Oregon, I expect she's referring to the coast or the Western slop of the Cascades. I always thought those areas were more attractive but this high desert is growing on me. Certainly the weather is better here.
