Photographer's Note

The Bear River winds its way from the Rocky Mountains in Colorado up through Wyoming, Idaho and finally through Utah to the Great Salt Lake. These are the marshes only a few miles from its final, salty destination.

The Bear River is used by farmers and others all along its length. Fertilizers and other chemicals end up in it as it travels its multi-state path. Here in these marshes, it has a chance to clean itself up--one valuable use for marshland.

PP: cropping, cleaning, added 10% contrast.
