Photographer's Note

It is interesting how you become friends at TE and how I came over Fulvio's pictures. There are thousands of people uploading but there is something that makes you have a closer look at someones work and it is not only the picture that wants you to open a file but also a title that makes you curious, and I wrote Fulvio in my first comment I ever did on his portfolio aha now we know where Thelma and Louise jumped over the cliff and ever since we share the same passion for the American West.

It is also an experience how you start missing peoples work while they are away taking a TE summer break or going on a vacation and you realize that TE is not only a lonely planet. I already miss some of you that are now sharing things not only with the pc and people sitting at the other end of the pc but with families and friends, and hopefully they return sooner or later with a bag full of stories and a memory stick full of jpgs or better raws.

This photo was taken at Arches National Park after a stormy night in the tent. The night sky was amazingly clear and the stars were shining and there was no single sign why there was this strong wind but it became so bad that the wind was pushing the fabric as far down as to my face and I had to get out and I tried to find some sleep in the car but after that did not work I went back to the tent, and you might imagine that I had an interesting mood when I got up and nothing was right :) But as it goes the sun came out and before I knew I had a huge smile back. You are wise when you visit the park very early which means getting up before 5 a.m. otherwise the summer heat becomes unbearable and the tourist streams are something you really want to avoid. Early birds are usually the ones that appreciate the silence of the morning, that want to read a book under the arches or choose the best angle for their photo. We were a lovely group actually in the end, not knowing each other but feeling the same way you always find your people, no matter where you are.
