Photographer's Note
One night while in Arches National Park I decided to shoot a star trail image of Double Arch to capture the essence of this design. The first shot was a 3 hour exposure in complete darkness, but on the second attempt a quarter moon came out and lit up the arches giving detail to this otherwise featureless scene.

Mitch,
It's always interesting to try these things, and you've come up with a pretty good result here, although there is a bit of a "white haze" - lack of definition - about it. Nevertheless, well worth the effort.

Amazing shot, Mitch
The lighting of the long exposure couldn't be better. Well balanced between details of the rock and star streaks. Well planned and composed scene.

Excellent exposure and great composition that is unique. I have photographed here in the daytime but this is much more dramatic. The star trails echo the striations in the rock or is it the other way round. Well done.
