Photographer's Note
Arriving at these dunes after a spring storm gave a texture on the sand that I have never seen before. While hiking through the dunes I came across this yucca plant that had been buried in the sand. This yucca and the rays of sun gave me a simple yet dramatic image of this amazing area.

beautiful composition, and great light, very soft. I like the untouched sand, which gives a sense of immensity.

In your picture the real star is the desert of white sand which deserve the biggest part of the space. The sky is beautiful also but i think you've found the right balance.
The pastel colours are lovely.

A wonderful composition that will be one of my favourites. I have only beem to White Sands once but I did not encounter this kind of texture. I always enjoy these muted colours.
