We thought that this visit to the USA was going to end the same way as a visit to the Canadian Rockies a few years ago with no bear sightings. We drove out of our last national park, Glacier.
Just outside the park these 3 bears suddenly appeared. They were determined to cross the road but had to abort 3 efforts before they successfully making the mad dash across the road.
The reason for the desperation was soon apparent when mother bear latched on to a road kill deer and dragged it into the forest. Magical!

I didn't have my big lens on so had to do with my little 1.4 50mm prime lens that I'd had on for some dark forest shots. Plenty of cropping was necessary so it isn't as sharp as it could be.
