Aspen Grove
Along the gravel road to the Fern Lake Trailhead - Rocky Mountain National Park.
I was going through some older images ... I had forgotten about this one ...
Ruthlessly pasted from a couple previous posts near this spot (see themes)
This road is one of my favorite places to be the first weekend of October every year ... from this scene it winds .7 of a mile through a thick grove of aspens to the Fern Lake Trailhead ... The area is teeming with the resident herd of elk .. it is not uncommon to walk amongst them down this road.
By first snowfall the road closes and you must walk down it to get to the Fern Lake trail .. the one downer this time of year is motorists .. who either think they will be lucky enough to get one of the dozen spots down at the trail (so they don't have to come back to the bigger lot at the head of the road) .. or people photo-motoring down the road .. I don't know why they would rather drive it than walk it .. no matter what time of year it is one of my favorite walks .. but a special place in autumn.

Hello John -
This is a nice image in that it reminds of an Impressionist painting. I am sure there was a gentle breeze blowing giving the aspen leaves that soft look. Well done!

Every time I see them (I got a bunch of those in this little park 2 minutes from my house) I automatically think of the Rockies...

I like the orange, which is just like a fire. The graphical effect works great by the small trees in the yellow grass.

Hello John,
I had planned to review your last post, but got hooked on this instead (I'll get to the newer ones later). Groups of Aspen trees are always compelling, in a clump like this, they have the same DNA, in short an anomaly of nature, they are all one organism here. Although it is a fall scene from two-and-a half years ago, it celebrates the golden hues of autumn. Superb shot,

Hi John - fabuluous autumn color, rare to see this type of shot this time of the year, the blazing colors are superb, and the bright sky is kept to a minimum.

Hello John :) Well i always want to say that the pictures with interesting light, colours, composition and wiew i like best :) Like in your picture of wild roses and in this picture i'm writing about :) For me its enougth some words, but i get trek information, that i cant write only WOW! I like it :))) So i will say that this yelow make me feel happy. And i think that pictures wich makes you feel something - is great pictures :) And about my english, that notice about Lithuanian festival - i copied from some travel agency info :) Because for me was too dificult to tell for all people here about that place and event :) Thank you for your opinion about that picture :)
