Photographer's Note
When you entering Yosemite Valley, Bridalveil Fall may be the one to give you the first natural wonder impression, as shown in my previous post Entering Yosemite Valley. It is one of the most pictured natural sceneries in Yosemite Valley. I spent more than an hour near a viewpoint at Wawona Tunnel area, one of the most traditional place to photograph Yosemite Valley in taking this waterfall picture.
This is a classic scene and classic picture. It is very hard to have anything different from the others. I believe this picture has the following differences from all other traditional Bridalveil Fall pictures: (1) The water volume is extremely large this year; (2) The sunset was at its best angle, the shade is visible; (3) A foreground pine tree was used to frame this picture.
Bridalveil Fall has a height of 620 ft, or 189m, about the height of a 62 story building. I have posted a zoomed out picture and an early morning close-in picture of the Bridalveil Fall in WS.
PP: crop; saturation; slightly sharpened after reduced the image size.
I hope you enjoy this picture.

My GOd...Wes...You have outshone yourself...!
One of your best i am sure. LOVELY picture. Man...I love this. Very clear and sharp. Excellent composition with the sun falling on the face of the cliff and the bottom half in darkish hues.
Great going

Very impressive photo. The colours are good and also the contrasts are nice because of the darker bottom and light water. I like the way the light is falling on the water and lights up the rocks.

nice but too much of an area is in shade. it's a pity it is so dark at the bottom.

Hi Wes. One of the nicest falls in the park if I remember well. The late-afternoon light gives you a nice yellowish glow off the rock face, but of course you also have to deal with some harsh shadow contrasts that might have been worth an attempt at tweaking the contrasts a bit. Otherwise a nice shot, and a pretty informative package on the place when viewed with the two workshops you attached.

I like the impressive contrast used on this sunlighted waterfall with still a lot of texturing in the dark parts and the natural coloring.
Simply perfect

Hi Mr. Wes! Your exposure settings were dead-on for this one. The high f/22 is great for DOF and the shutter speed of 1/20 caught a good flow effect in the waterfall. You can really sense the beauty, power and size of nature here. I like the cropping too. Nice shot Ansel, I mean Wes!

Voici donc cette chute d'eau magique, une des plus jolies du monde et si connue.
Tu as atendu un moment privilιgiι pour la photographier, avec cette lumiθre solaire qui l'illumine.
Bien vu.

Hi Wes
Another great falls with great angle work. But I think the exposure is a little over. Anyway to compensate it?
Well done.
