Photographer's Note
Yosemite National Park certainly is one of the world's finest parks. On any given day, there may be visitors from dozens of countries. Yosemite Valley is one of must visit location.
This photo was taken around noon time at one of viewpoints when I drove back to Yosemite Valley along route 120 (north side road). We are viewing from west to east direction. The road on the left hand side is route 120, which is descending to Yosemite Valley. The waterfall at the far side center is Bridalveil fall. The rocks behind the bridalveil fall are known as Cathedral Rocks. The foreground rock on our right hand side is turtleback dome. The river in the center of the valley is Merced River.
The high elevation mountains were still covered by snow, which are showing white in this picture.
The photo is original with auto level adjustment, +5 saturation, and unsharpened (88% amount, 0.4 radius 1 level threshold) after reduced the image size. I have to use quality 7 when I save the image to fit the 200K file size limitation.

Got you first, at last.
This is a beautiful lanscape, taken from an excellent angle. Very well captured.
Love the colors , the sky a little bit burned, but this photo is a number one.
I love it.
Well done Wes.

Hi Wes,
A lovely view of the valley...! Nicely framed with the mountains on both the sides and the river in the middle. Very nice and sharp.

Dear Wes,
Again a wonderful shot, perfect capture of the valley, the blue colour tintes on the background are fantastic, a pity Wes, for the white sky, but I like very a lot this picture!
Greetings,
John.

Hi Wes,
The beautiful depth makes this composition very impressive !! Very nice picture with good clarity and sharpness. The only drawback is the white sky. Well done!

Nice deep view into the valley, Wes, with the perspective nicely supported by the zig-zagging curves of the Merced River. Yosemite's characteristic blend of stone formations and greenery is well depicted here. Try metering for the area where the snow-capped hill in the back meets the sky and you will get a much bluer sky as a result (though you will have to brighten up the foreground a little then in PS). Good capture of the scenery.

Hi Wes. This is a well and uniquely composed scene. The detail is sharp without becoming grainy, and I like your DOF. The eye is drawn nicely up the canyon to the distant scene, which has its own point of interest. A well thought out, well executed capture.

Hi Wes, nice shot with a fantastic deep view. The clarity is impressive in the foreground but does decrease in the background. That's too bad about the sky though. I think Norbert is right about how to avoid it. I rarely do this myself but to elaborate on what he said is to point the camera right at the snow capped peak, then hit and hold the AEL button, reposition your viewfinder to where you want it and then hit the shutter button. That probably would have helped. Hindsight is always 20-20 isn't it?? I bet a polarizer would and or UV filter could have helped too, but not as much as metering. Hey we all learned something, thanks! :) Nice shot Wes.

Great point of view Wes, these high elevation point of view are always impressive, we have the impression to dive in the valley, very good depth, well done.

Bonjour Wes

Hello Wes
A pretty landscape of which I would have liked to see from my window. The image is tallied perfectly, but the difference in luminosity between the sky and the foreground has given this milky sky. UV filter will not solve the problem.
It is possible to use grad Cokin filters which are fixed on your optics.
See WS.

Hi Wes
It's a pure joy to see your pics cause they're from place I never see otherwise. Since they also are well composed and taken with a big portion of effort and great skills I enjoy them even more.
I know how difficult it's to take shots of canyons. They usually don't come out like the view really is.
Well done
