Photographer's Note
This walkway in Dowtown San Diego, California, is named after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., like many other places in the USA dedicated to the great civil rights leader, who lived also in San Diego.
On the ground, along the promenade there are several plaques with quotations of Martin Luther King. In the workshop you see an image of two plaques, those that read:
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."
"We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is still the thief of time".
The other workshop is another view, more ahead of this, in another day.
This promenade runs parallel to the Trolley line (Convention Center Station, here at right), between Gaslamp Quarter and the Convention Center.

Vejo que também estiveste ausente do TE durante algum tempo. Eu estive aí em Portugal três semanas e participei no encontro do dia 5 de Janeiro. Foi muito bom, apesar do mau tempo. Como o convívio era o motivo principal, então direi que o dia foi excelente.
Isto parece ser uma avenida espectacular e noto que não havia carros. Certamente que era domingo!

Olá Francisco,
O enquadramento (muito harmonioso e dinâmico), a luz, as cores e a nitidez estão estupendos. O local tb. é muito agradável à vista. O vermelho da estrutura metálica e o violeta das flores dão um bonito toque de cor.
Acho o mesmo do WS; embora funcione de forma diferente visualmente, está impecável.
E os letreiros com as citações do MLK acentuam o tom "xuaxal" (como diria a Carmo) do conjunto. :-)

Bom dia Francisco, vejo que te mudaste para Kenya (penso que agora não se está lá muito bem...) e manténs mistério quanto às tuas férias de TE. Pelo menos ainda não se vêem fotos novas. Desta dedicação, escolho a forte perspectiva do WS. Embora esta esteja boa sou sempre atraído por pontos de fuga que nos fazem atravessar a imagem em grande velocidade.

muito bonita essa foto e a rua, muito bem cuidada, só não gostei dos fios de luz, mas parece que são para bondes ou ônibus elétricos né!

Bonita esta avenida só para pessoas no lado direiro passa comboios ?, estes edificios tem uma arquitectura muito bonita eu gosto dos vidros espelhados , parabens!!!!

Bom dia, Francisco! Bemvindo de volta! Vejo que voltas en plena forma e atacando forte con Martin Luther King :-) Gosto do tema da serie, e gosto da avenida, pero atopo máis afortunado o WS, con issa perspectiva tan marcada. Nembargantes, as cores desta son máis eficaces e atraíntes coa combinación verde-bermelho.
Uma bonita homenaxe a ese gran home!

Ola Francisco,
He was a most eloquent leader. I believe his assasination left the blacks under the swayy of leaders that pushed the idea that they weren't responsible because of discrimination. This has been nearly genocidal for young African-American males with murder (primarily by others of their own race) being the #1 cuase of death for males 12-29. Had he lived, I believe our counttry would be a far better place. Now almost everybody claims that they are somehow 'owed.'
On a brighter note, our favorite jazz club, Dizzy's, has moved to the event room of the Wine & Culinary Arts Center here. Now they serve wine, our favorite is a very reasonable priced Australian wine, Jindalee at $9/bottle.
Do tell your son it's a lack of DOF from a very long lens.
