Photographer's Note
Out early to hike part of the Grand Enchantment Trail in the heart of the Superstition Wilderness, I noticed the sky lightening as I reached Apache Lake. Despite the twists and curves of the Apache Trail (AZ 88) and the final 2 miles of dirt road, I reached the Vista just as the sun set fire to the clouds.
The strip of dirt heading downhill in the left middle of the photo is the "sane" portion of the Apache Trail (known as Fish Creek Hill). Behind the rock to the left it bends into the canyon and narrows into a single lane dirt road with a few spots wide enough to get past an oncoming vehicle and multiple blind hairpin turns.
The Tonto National Forest's Recreation Areas along the Apache Trail and Bush Highway are now closed, but that didn't stop large numbers of people from making their way to Tortilla Flat and from parking in every pull over along Canyon Lake. The Rangers were issuing warnings and tickets.
The Apache Trail is closed at the Fish Creek Vista and at the Roosevelt Dam end, effectively closing down Apache Lake

Hi Mark, very nice shot; WA lens with the plant well placed in the corner worked well. Cheers, steve

Hi Mark,
So lovely photo with impressive depth, good plant in FG and lines formed by thin clouds in the sky. Great light capture on the horizon, well managed, congratulations, tfs.

Hello MArk
A great shot with the fire in the sky coming over the horizon. The great thing about Arizona that there is a new image around every corner. The clouds really made this image pop. Nice
Jimmy
