Photographer's Note

Sunset crater in north arizona. Last explosion 900 years ago (about year 1064). There are lava flows everywhere. The name is because of the colors of cone rocks at sunset (mainly red reflections). You can find better shots searching the internet. This is a scan from print, taken in 1998 with low cost fixed focus camera.
