That's a great photo, the range and placement of colours is fantastic and looks almost deliberate in how they've been planted. The mist is an unusual touch in a forest scene like this , but a very welcome one. A burst of colour in a grey day, expertly captured.

I see you encountered some typical Vermont autumn weather, you must have felt quite at home.
The gorgeously colored autumn woods are nicely covered with the mist and thus create a wonderful mystique mood. Truly a lovely scene indeed.

Hello Ann,

The weather on this day might have been poor from the point of view of getting out and about for sightseeing but it was very obviously absolutely perfect for photography, particularly of autumn scenes such as this very fine one.

There is no doubt that the mist lying over the treetops does much to enhance this fine photograph by hiding any far background distractions and by reducing any overly bright light, so letting the eye concentrate on the myriad rich autumnal colours in this beautiful deciduous forest. And the bright light on the foreground meadow of yellow flowers adds a wonderful depth to your fine simple composition.

Glorious light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Vermont, I've heard so many wonderful things about that state especially during the Autumn months.
Infact, the entire North East area of the US could fit into that category.

Personally, the fog at the top portion of the frame works well i think, nothing wrong with that at all - whats wrong with a bit of atmosphere right?
