Photographer's Note

I was enjoying the evening near one of the promenades in Manhattan that faces the East River, and found myself, once again, photographing the Queensboro Bridge.

The East River is a very important and active waterway in NYC. It stretches from Upper New York Bay to the Long Island Sound, and touches all of the city's boroughs except Staten Island. It is the site of the annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks. It is spanned by 8 bridges, 2 tunnels for vehicular traffic and 11 for trains, the Roosevelt Island Tram, and it also has ferry and water taxi service.

The Queensboro Bridge looked so graceful against the dusk sky as it spanned the river that evening..
