Photographer's Note
Finally, we are getting out of Mount Rushmore National Memorial. This photo was taken while we were going back down to the underground floor where we had parked. I liked the various lines and angles that the stairwell presented and snapped a shot.
The parking facility is operated under a concession contract between the National Park Service and Xanterra Parks and Resorts, Inc. Since no federal funding was used to construct the parking facility, a parking fee has been authorized to offset the costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the parking facility. A parking permit entitles a non-commercial vehicle unlimited entry to the memorial for one year from the date of purchase.
