This is one of the images projected during Legends in the Night laser light show. The image is made up of a still part (the flag and the writing) and a moving part. Because of the long exposure (1 s), the moving part appeared as the repeating patterns.

“Legends in Light” multimedia laser-light show is presented nightly, at dark, from Memorial Day weekend through Native Americans’ Day in October. The laser-light show effectively turns the mountainside into a giant 500-foot “screen” for the spectacular display. Just as the Memorial honors Native Americans, “Legends in Light” dramatizes the story of the rich heritage, living cultures and contributions by Native Americans to American society. The show features colorful animations, sound effects and laser beams choreographed to music.

June 26 blast celebrates the birthday of the late Mrs. Korczak (Ruth) Ziolkowski (1926 - 2014), wife of the late Crazy Horse sculptor. It also commemorates the anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876. The battle was June 25, 1876. Crazy Horse was a main strategist in the defeat of Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and his troops. September 6th blast honors the dual anniversaries of the 1877 death of Crazy Horse and of the 1908 birth of sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski.

The workshop contains another image, Portrait of the Sculptor, from the laser show and one image, The Blast, from the night blast. My camera was having difficulty focusing; between that difficulty and my desire to experience the show, I was not able to obtain a decent image from the nightly blast.
