Photographer's Note
This natural wonder is located about 20 km (12 mi) west of Varadero. This big opening in the ground (cenote) is filled with fresh crystal clear water. You can swim of snorkel to see the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites formations, fish, and blind shrimps. Scuba divers can also enjoy 2 galleries that reach a depth of 20 meters.

Complimenti e grazie!
Tanti saluti e buon fine settimana,
Ourania

Immagine assai fascinosa!

Ciao Caro Luciano,
This is a first from this part of Cuba!
You must have been captivated to witness the beauty of this cave! It's not easy to relay such details on a photograph but you have shown us the stalactites, the rock formations and the azure blue water extremely well.
Thank you for sharing this,

Hi Luciano
Personally, i won't be going down into that water, I don't know how to swim! I would sink to the bottom and die! :)
So for me, i'll just enjoy the view from here.
Mother nature sure is pretty isn't she, amazing to see such natural wonders. the photo turned out pretty good considering the poor lighting conditions offered to you. cool shot!

Hi Luciano,
I have visited quite a few caves. But none of them were open from top, offering such dizzying downwards view. To be able to see the cave in natural light is very different experience. I especially like the blue tone of water down there.

Ciao Luciano
I like the pastel colours of this shot. Very clear and sharp too. Very well composed.
I always used to get confused by which is a stalactite and which is a stalagmite. Then one day I was in a cave like this one. It was called "The Devil's arsehole" because as the wind rushed through in the cave it sounded like a giant fart! The guy who I was with explained that stalactite's hang from the ceiling because they hang on tight. Whilst the stalagmite's grow up from the floor because they might reach the ceiling. So, that's how I remember which is which!
Thanks for your kind comment.
Have a good day

Ciao Luciano,
although I like very much strange rock formations I have to say the caves are so challenging to show them in an interesting way. This here has this green colored water which add a lovely touch to the composition. Plus it seems like some natural light is coming in so there is more light than in typical caves.
Very interesting place, I wouldn't guess it is Cuba.
Excellent work,
