Partial panoramic view of Pachuca, capital of the state of Hidalgo, in central Mexico.
The city is located at 2400 metres above sea level and has 260 000 inhabitants. It was founded in 1438 by the Aztecs, who called Pachyohcan (place of hay).
During the Colonial period was an important mining center, and from 1824 to 1906 received English miners from Cornwall, who left some cultural influences such as food and sports. The first football team of the country was created here.
