Photographer's Note
This is from Mexico's Copper Canyon country, Las Barrancas del Cobre in the Sierra Madre Occidental range. The town on the river is Urique. From this overlook, it lies (this is VERY approximate!) about 2000 feet below and 3/4 of a mile distant -- so the line-of-sight distance to the town is about a mile. The elevation change accounts for completely different climates at the overlook (pine forest) and the town on the river (tropical).
Originally shot by my traveling companion on 35mm Fuji Velvia; I'm holding my trusty, beat-up Nikon F.
