Photographer's Note
...
When the outrigger fishing trawlers tie up at the dock, all the gear points to the sky...
When they set out to go fishing, the outriggers are stretched out like the wings on a bird.
In this shot, the "Leading Lady" is leaving Sambro Harbour to go fishing on the Great Big Sea.
Ahead of her are ducks and cormorants, also "winging it" ... [ And yes, there is a gull also. ]
Outrigger Trawler: Basic equipment of the vessels are the outriggers, on which the gear is towed. Outrigger trawlers are the most widely used type of fishing vessel in shrimp trawling . On each side one single otter trawl or a twin trawl can be towed. Another special type of outrigger trawlers is the beam trawler, mainly used in the North sea for the catch of flatfish . One beam trawl is towed on each side. Outrigger trawlers may have the superstructure forward with the working deck aft as is the case when shrimp are targeted . In this case the towing winch will be located just aft of the superstructure and is usually installed with its axis along the centre line so that the warps from the drums feed directly to cap-rail bollards and then to the towing blocks at the ends of the outriggers.

I think the subject is good, but there is some margin of improvement.
First, I would take the same picture on a less humid day, so to have darker sky (polarizer may help too).
Second, I would change the time of the day or the POV in order to have the Sun on the right of the picture, not in front. Even taking the picture, say, some 30 seconds sooner could have been enough.
Third: I don't like the black dots of the birds. De gustibus...
Fourth: the title below resembles me the speeding fine pictures :-) you know, it is an artistic work, I would use different fonts, centering the title, and making a tiny frame on all the 4 edges.

Nicely shot photo; well-balanced and nice composition.
Photographer's notes were helpful, and gave some good technical information re trawler-fishing.
I liked the soft colors, AND, of course, the
birds!!

Hi Jay
The trawler heading out to sea really gives a feeling of drama. Reason being is the dark colour of the water, it looks so ominous. I like the angle and dark shadows you captured on the Trawler. Great notes.

I think your turning into a Maritimer by all the eastern sea worthy terminology .. eh
