Photographer's Note
At the edge of Garibaldi Lake, this photo shows a glimpse of Mt Garibaldi which is at the south end of the lake. The vertical format helped bring the alpine trees and the mountian into the frame, along with two people at the edge of the lake. One is sitting in the shade, while the other is enjoying the warmth of the sun. Mt Garibaldi is 2678 metres high, and is part of Pacific mountian range.
I must say I found this lake to be one of the most beautiful places that I have seen thus far. Mountians laced with alpine trees, clear prisine glacier water and the warm sunshine on your back at a place like this makes for a very enjoyable day...indeed!

Good evening, Paul,
Well this is a lovely vertical shot, having the tall trees reaching skyward with the mountain. It's a real treat (for this New Jersey girl) to see someone about to go swimming with the snow all around him.. I like the richer clarity and depth of the foreground colors, backed by the mountain awash in sunlight. Another beautiful memory from your trip...

Olα Paul!
Bela foto, o contraste ficou muito bom, assim como a nitidez da imagem e as pessoas nas pedras deixaram a imagem muito mais interessante!
Parabιns pelo trabalho e Abraηo!

Hi Paul. Good job squeezing in the top of that big tree. Again you've got some genuine eye-popping beauty. I like the guy just taking all that in. You must be very high up to still have snow a month ago. The portrait orientation was probably the only way to fit this big landscape in. Congrats!

Hi Paul.
Beautiful vertical view of Garibaldi Lake. I like how the elongated evergreens frame the r/sof the photo. Nice vivid colors and POV.

Hello Paul,
Another fantastic scene of this beautiful place. It doesn't look like July, does it! I love how you have captured the foreground rocks and the framing by the trees to the right. The capture of Mount Garibaldi is also amazing. Great composition with a vertical format that works fantastic here!
Greetings,
Ann

Hi Paul. The two people make this an interesting shot. Excellent choice of viewpoint to include the bit of snow in the bottom right. I like the sun on the rock and the back of the young man. This looks an absolutely beautiful spot.
I reckon you might have oversharpened this one a tad, but perhaps the effect is to heighten the effect of the sparse mountain atmosphere, lending the photo a certain crispness.
Regards,
Andrew

Bonjour mon ami Paul,
Bravo !

I was sure I had critiqued this shot yesterday, but not sure where it went to... hmmm.
Nice composition, and a good exposure (no snow overexposed). Is the guy actually going to go for a swim in that FREEZING water? I'll bungy- but don't have the nerve to swim in that water!
Really tempted to check out these lakes my next summer trip back.
Cheers Paul!

P.S.- I've posted a workshop of the original Whistler Lodge shot... it wasn't a miniature.

Hi Paul,
Well composed and ideal in the vertical format. I like how you included people in the scene, both to warmify and also to give some idea of scale. The large trees on the right also lend much power and balance to the scene. Very fine work, Paul. These shots of the Garibaldi area are a real contribution to TE and to people's awareness of this vast mountainous region of the province. Hope you survived all the warm weather.

Hi Paul
An impressive scene and one that looks like a great place to spend more than a day. I like the inclusion of the trees and the mountain in the background. Nice lighting and a real holiday brochure look to the scene. Very nice indeed.

Hi Paul
I sincerely find this a great composition, well balanced with the trees on the right, and a human touch sugesting its accessibility and giving a scale to this impressive mountain.
The only drawback is the lost of life in the colors,no vibrancy.I even change monitor just to be sure.
Overall it is well done, but the finish here is not up to your standard.
Surely a very cold water to take a plunge. How high were you at this spot.
Have a nice WE.

Hi Paul,
I really like the way you've framed the shot; particularly those brave fellows about to get into the lake. I don't think I've seen folks swimming in a glacier lake before. Actually all the framing is outstanding from the nice width of blue sky to the curves of the mountain framed by the tall evergreens and the volcanic rocky point reaching into the lake. Light management is excellent giving great color and detail.
In starting a series on the Cascade Lakes Loop, I scattered off in to the Cascade Range. I was impressed that most of this range is recorded well here on TE; so I've started a theme I've titled Cascade Mountain Range. I’ve added this photo to the Cascade Mountain Range theme. Regards, Pat
