Photographer's Note
Its been a long time since I posted here on TE, more than three months, in fact almost 4 months.
I thought I'd better post something before the end of the year, and make sure its in the spirit of Christmas.
This shot was taken with my cell phone. We were driving around our local streets trying to find Christmas lights for our son to enjoy. When we came up upon this house, it was like we won the lottery.
And I know its cliche to say, but the photo doesn't do the display justice. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of lights and ornaments jam packed all over the small property. its stunning.
All is good here, just super busy with my boy, who is 2 years and 4 months old now.
I will try to keep active on TE as best I can. I haven't forgotten about you guys, you're on my mind often and I hope you're all well and enjoying the holidays!
Oh, and that snow on the ground...its fake...there is no snow here.

Hello Craig,
What a nice surprise to see you back. And what perfect photos for every child, and for the child in every adult. Photographically they're all impressively sharp and perfectly exposed. The colours have a clarity not always seen in photos taken in the darkness.
Thank you for for comments on my photo. I have only been to that yacht for a beer a couple of times long ago, but this link may give you some information:

I noted there are no photos from inside the cabins. I suspect they are all fairly small.
I wish you and your family a fine continued Christmas.

Hello Craig,
I have to admit that my absence on TE has lasted even longer and only recently I started posting a bit more. It was good to notice I had not yet been forgotten and my return was encouraged. Of course, that also applies to you.
I understand that Vancouver has had a difficult time thanks to the climate change with many fires and floods. And of course Oakley and Joanne also require the necessary attention. What a nice son you have. He always looks satisfied and happy in your facebook photos.
Merry Christmas, groet Rob

Hi Craig,I was pleased to see you again, in fact you young people (hahaha) are very busy with the children and the family. You are one of the youngest members of this site, so you work to pay for our pensions even if I still have 5 years to go ... 3 beautiful photos, a real party of colors and lights not only for children. Merry Christmas and we hope to resume travel as soon as possible.Luciano

Hi Craig,
The scene is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the Christmas decorations. The light is bringing out the colors. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi Craig
It's nice to hear from you and glad you and family are doing well!
Great to see a photo from you, your posts are always interesting. I know what you mean when you say you didn't quite capture all of it, I often have that feeling with Christmas decorations. But people who haven't seen the actual thing look at our images from a different perspective and maybe even appreciate them more than we do ourselves! :-) What I'm trying to say in this long-winded way is that I really like this shot. It captures the atmophere of Christmas so well.
Best wishes

Hello Craig,
Before I read your notes, I thought this was from one of those Chritmas lights events. Some private person went to great lengths to decorate for Christmas, it's complete with fake snow.
Enjoy that tot, it seems like yesterday that I watched my older son learn to walk, he and his wife came up to visit us for their first Christmas this year.
Merry Christmas,
MT

Hi Craig,
Nice to hear from you again. I have seriously talked about you to my friends earlier yesterday saying that after getting a child people have much less time for themselves, less than than they thought they would. But I meant it in a positive way. My daughter means the whole world to me.
This is an amazing decoration here. Such a variety of lights and figures! It looks a bit as an obstacle course for children. Great night shot, excellent work!

Hi Craig
I kind of guessed that the snow was fake. The melting patterns are uneven and the zig zag shadow following the led lights is stretching credibility. Plus I have seen real snow in Korea, Japan, China, New Zealand, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, USA and of course, Canada. Good colour and sharpness, & impressive Christmas lights! Tfs!

Hello Craig,
Every photo shows a very colourful spectacle.
I'm sure your son will have been astonished.
A lot of work has been done on this. There's so much to see.
Clear and sharp shots with the colourful figures standing out against the dark night sky.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Craig!
I hope you and your family enjoyed a beautiful Christmas. I'd been wondering how you were doing. I should have dropped an e-mail your way... This photo is bursting with Christmas spirit. I think you wandered upon the actual North Pole. :-) I love all the lights and the patterns in the fake snow. It sure looks real! Take good care!

Hi Craig,
Indeed this Christmas scene id full of colorful details. And the Santa Claus is an obvious main focal point. Although I knew the snow isn't real the impression is well implemented.

Hello Craig, a little late in responding to this one, better late than never!
Artificial snow? I would never have realised if you hadn’t said.
An amazing collection / display of Christmas decorations, it must take hours and hours to set it all up. And as to the amount of electricity it must use!
I like your point of view, and the black sky makes the colours appear even brighter. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.
