Unusual Selfie
Installations – On a Large Scale
1200 pixel Beta version
Another museum observation from the Musιe National des Beaux Art du Quιbec.
This time of the major openings exhibition for the Pierre Lassonde Pavillion: Installations on a Large Scale.
This is the introduction-text of the museum:
To celebrate both the opening of the Pierre Lassonde pavilion and the vitality of the contemporary arts scene in Quιbec, this inaugural exhibition will pay tribute to one of the most influential and representative art practices: installation.
Designed to create a promenade, beginning in the magnificent new galleries of the Pierre Lassonde pavilion, the fourth cornerstone of the MNBAQ complex, and ending in the Gιrard-Morisset pavilion, the exhibition will bring together some thirty emblematic installations from Quιbec over the past forty years found in the Musιe’s exceptional collection.
These works, in some cases never before exhibited and in other cases memorable for their interaction with the visitor or their imposing occupation of space, are each a milestone of an artistic form located at the boundary between disciplines, like the new MNBAQ.

Hello Rob,
Reminds me of one those sliding tile puzzles I used to play with as a kid. Very difficult to get your head round:-) Original composition very well realised.

Hello Rob,
This must be a case where the self portrait is so distorted that it no longer is regarded as a self portrait according to TE rules. It's a stunning and amusing photo and a work of art in its own right. It reminds me of the effects of the mirror building outside the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
Kind regards,
Gert

Drievoeters aller landen verenigt u!
De meeste selfies zijn gewoon saai, deze geeft er een mooie twist aan. Zo wordt het toch nog leuk. Mooi!
Groetjes

Hello Rob,
An unusual selfie indeed! And, as others have said, this does so much remind one of those puzzles with the shifting squares - but there must be an empty space somewhere!
Very well seen and very well taken - one real advantage of having a camera with a tilting screen on the back!
And a very good quality too considering the low light levels.
Brilliant!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Rob,
I like the effect created by the mirrors. The ppoint of view is showing the selfie of the photographer. The surrounding light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Rob
Very unusual and brilliant style of photo, it's abstract and humorous. The part showing the floor brightens up the entire image really nicely. Very cool photo.Cheers

Hallo Rob,

Hello Rob,
You turned into a three-legged man, but I still recognize you. :-) This is definitely a different kind of selfie, and I like it. All of the empty squares, together with the mixed up pieces of you, create an interesting and fun puzzle. I hope you're doing well.

Hallo Rob,
Prachtig zelfportret om mee vereeuwigd te worden op internet.
Nederlanders zitten fysiek toch anders in elkaar: geen neus en drie benen.
Maar in een museum voor schone kunsten moet dit kunnen natuurlijk.
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello Rob,
Funny selfie , looks like a puzzle. we can't recognize you so it is hopefully not against TOS. I like my selfies made with mirrors, specially when there are many mirrors giving amusing effect. Nice capture.

Ciao Rob
non so se conosci Maurizio Galimberti, θ un fotografo molto conosciuto in Italia, questa foto sembra una delle sue realizzazioni, ma tu lo hai fatto su te stesso.
Grande idea e splendida realizzazione.

Hello Rob,
I like the repetition of the squares and the capital I shaped structure of the distorted reflection of the man. Good sharpness and well framed and composed using the rule of thirds. Tfs!

Hello Rob,
I love this photo that reminds me of cubism. It is just my cup of tea, well seen and delightfully rendered! By the way, Saatchi (saatηi) is a Turkish word meaning watchmaker (or watch seller).

Hello Rob
This is a quirky and inventive photograph, neo-cubist in its style. It also puts me in mind of David Hockney's photographic "joiners". And you are wearing a Saatchi Gallery t-shirt, which seems appropriate!

Hello Rob, I missed seeing this one until today!
Excellent viewpoint, the way that pieces of you are missing!I like the disjointed reflections. And as Sunney has already stated, a reminder of those sliding puzzles we used to have as children.Or the crazy mirrors at the fair?
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.
