Photographer's Note
This historic building is on the Church street of Aurora, it was built in 1886 for a Public School and was used until 1952 as a school building. Lester B. Pearson, a former Prime Minister of Canada attended this school. In 1981, the building underwent renovations for use by various community groups. That same year, the building was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act and an Ontario Heritage Foundation plaque was erected on the site. The decorative gable-ends, belfry and roof monitor replicate the style of one of the kiosks of the Golden Temple of Amritsar in India. These unique features mark the building as a fine example of the late Victorian era architecture.
