There are some images where they have an immediate visual impact, even as a thumbnail, but it's difficult to explain why or what is having the effect. For me this is one such image.
The colours are strong and well saturated, the dark hills help segment the image without fragmenting it (if that makes sense), and the position of the church itself is ideal.

Hello Gerald,
A blue statue is welcoming visitors in the church amidst the brown fields. A fine detail in this photo with a somewhat strange atmosphere, you wonder why the church has been dropped amidst the open fields...

Hi Gerald,

Well composed and excellent color tone/contrast!
It's interesting for me to see old church that has built alone in the rural, this photograph is composed of the combination of good colors(ground/slope with brown, church with white wall/green roof, deep green mild mountain and blue sky). And, thin cloud draws out a good effect for the whole, I think.

outre ce trθs beau sujet principal, je suis sιduit par cette sιparation de la photo entre ce ciel bien bleu et ces teintes paille au sol.
Une photo qui ne manque pas de profondeur et trθs soignιe dans ses lumiθres.

Hi Gerald,
This has your name all over it. Very rich and deep color and tones, wonderful contrast.
Such a charming little rustic church, out is nowhere, very humble and down to earth, the broken windows and torn roof. But what a setting, like a movies set. Beautiful composition, great placement of the church.

A lovely shot with powerfully strong colors. Even though the steeple is in the exact center of the photo, it doesn't look overly balanced, because the church building on the right corrects for that.

The strong clean colours and the simplicity of the composition explains the attraction value of this fine image!
It is rare to see a church in this state, as the last thing any community stops to maintain often is the house of worship...
A balanced composition with good details!
